Let’s face it- tilling with a walk behind rototiller is a pain no matter which way you cut it.  It’s hard on the back, takes forever and never really busts up the giant clods of clay we are used to here in Southeastern Michigan.  Tilling by tractor allows a greater depth of turnover, really breaks up the soil and compost or other nutrients can be worked in as well.

Rotilling can benefit existing gardens where soil has become compacted or brand new garden plots that you want to start this year.

Once your seed bed is fortified and worked properly, get ready for the best garden you’ve ever had! Planting is a much nicer experience!
